Marley Leadership Coaching Philosophy:
What you can expect—12 principles as a guide:
- Partnership. Coaching is an equal partnership built on mutual trust. We each lead in our own unique way, thus bringing out the best in each other.
- Holistic Approach. We engage the entire person—body, mind and soul—as we travel with you along the leadership path to fulfill your dreams and goals. Coaching creates new knowledge that shifts your perceptions and transforms you into the leader you have always wanted to be. In coaching, we evoke new wisdom that energizes your spirit.
- Agenda. Coaching inspires the client to realize that the answers are within them. The client creates the agenda items for the coaching session and uses the coach as the objective observer to design actions much greater than they would think of on their own. Bottom line, the client directs the call and is inspired by the Coach to take action.
- Goal and Process. We realize the importance you place on achieving your dreams and goals. We work with you to crystallize your dreams and develop your goals. In addition, we will assist you to deepen your understanding of the processes that accelerate your learning during coaching.
- Action Oriented. We want for you to fulfill your dreams and achieve your goals. To convert your dreams and goals into a reality, action is required. At the conclusion of each meeting, you identify and commit to the necessary to get to your outcome.
- Enjoy the Ride. Why not have fun along the way? Celebrating your journey and accomplishments is necessary to ensure consistent outcomes. You will probably spend more time on the journey than at the final destination. This is why we at MLC encourage our clients to celebrate the milestones and recognize even the smallest of accomplishments every day.
- Honesty. We believe a key characteristic of a great leader is honesty. As you show consistency between your words and your actions you demonstrate proof to the strength and validity of our values. We work with you to identify your values – personal and professional because only when your actions are strongly tied to your values can you stand alone in difficult times and demonstrate confidence in our beliefs.
- Values and Vision. A second key characteristic of a great leader is vision. While our values provide the foundation, our vision provides the force to move us forward. It gives us a sense of direction and speaks to our concern for the future. Our vision begins in our imagination, and it is that dream, that goal, that stirs within us. It is fueled by a deep desire to see our world in a different way and to move from what is to what can be. Coaching will bring all of this into your consciousness!
- Aspire. We believe a third key characteristic of a great leader is to aspire. When we aspire, we call upon an inner force to breathe life upon our desire, to infuse our spirit, to let us rise to meet our goals, to fulfill our dreams and our vision. This spirit connects us with our vision, allows the energy to flow, the enthusiasm to build and the resilience to sustain the journey.
- Environment. We create a coaching environment that is a safe place for you. A place where you can proclaim your dream, challenge beliefs, examine perceptions, create possibilities, attempt experiments, build competencies, expose vulnerabilities, celebrate successes, find encouragement, be free of judgment, enjoy the journey and live the dream. In return, we expect you to acknowledge responsibility for what
you want and accept accountability for what you commit to do.
- Confidentiality. We respect your privacy and acknowledge that our conversations are confidential.
- Integrity, Trust, and Credibility. It is our intent to prove worthy of your trust. It is through our actions, based on values and vision, applied and accomplished on a consistent basis, that we create integrity. Integrity (the trust we build within ourselves) is the foundation that builds trust and credibility with others.
In our coaching, we adhere to the International Coach Federation (ICF) Core Competencies and abide by the ICF Code of Ethics. To uphold the integrity of our coaching relationship, we might refer you to other professionals if we believe we cannot help you effectively.
